Course Withdrawal & Financial Aid Repayment

Repayment Schedule

  • If the withdrawal occurs before the first day of class, all aid is automatically pulled back from the students account. Any charges incurred at the Bookstore will need to be paid by the student.
  • If the withdrawal occurs on or after the first day of classes, the Financial Aid office uses a federal formula to determine the amount of financial aid you might have to repay (Return to Title 4).
  • You will be notified within 15 days of your withdrawal the amount you owe which must be repaid within 45 days. We will then repay the debt to the Dept. of Education to the program in which they are owed.
  • This debt will have to be repaid before any additional aid can be awarded.

Never Attended

  • Once the determination is made that a student never attended or participated in a class in which he/she received aid, the Department of Education requires the college to return the portion of aid awarded to the student for that class.
  • If a student never attends any of his or her courses, the student will owe all financial aid funds back to the College.

2nd 8 Week Class Changes

  • If you drop a 2nd 8 week class before it starts without replacing it with an eligible, 2nd 8 week class, you will be responsible for returning the portion of aid received for that class.
  • If you make any changes to your 2nd 8 week schedule, please contact us to ensure any adjustments to your aid have been reflected correctly.
